As part of the X Bienal de Arquitetura de São Paulo program, “(New) Middle Classes? New (Old) Cities?” was the last workshop of the German contribution Nós Brasil! We Brazil!. The previous three workshops had taken place throughout August 2013 in Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Salvador. In São Paulo, Renato Cymbalista focused the workshop on the impact of the so-called new middle class in the city-making processes of today’s Brazil.
Nós Brasil! We Brazil! is the German contribution to the 2013 International Architecture Biennial in São Paulo curated by raumtaktik. Nós Brazil! We Brazil! is a project by the Goethe-Institut on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban development. It is curated by Matthias Böttger and invited artist / architect Luis Berríos-Negrón. Jointly realized with the Goethe-Instituts in São Paulo, Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Salvador.
