“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It contains within it two key concepts: The concept of ‚needs‘, in particular the essential needs of the world's poor, to which overriding priority should be given; and the idea of limitations imposed by the state of technology and social organization on the environment's ability to meet present and future needs.”

Gro Harlem Brundtland, 1987

Architecture students in the field of  "Sustainable Architecture and Spatial Tactics"  dealt within the framework of Entwurfsapsekte (Saft) with relevant issues of sustainability in theory and practise. Here to aspects of nature, society, economy, resources and design guests were invited, discussion were held, different task were submitted and with the course of this a "glossary of sustainability" was developed.

In a following workshop at Herbert-Bayer-Platz the students built an urban cooking object made of recycled material. For who do we need to be sustainable? How and from what do we live? Directly on the cooking object these and other questions or reflections concerning economy, society, nature, energy and material were tested out and negotiated. Finally altogether the students cooked food from Pleschinger Au and the Supermarkt-Container.
